Hello! I am Yianni Pasamihalis, a creature concept artist living and working in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During my time in school, I wrote his own major in order to pursue his goal of working in 3D modeling. Since then I’ve done several freelance digital projects, and my traditional and digital works have been shown in the galleries of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
As a creature design and landscape concept artist, my work focuses on assisting others to tell their stories through visual means. Drawing from the realms of mythology, fantasy, and Classical history, I use both traditional media and digital modeling to create work that reaches into primal archetypes and emotions. I use 3D programs like zBrush and SketchUp to explore the intersections of illustration and sculpture, creating creatures that seamlessly exist in their proposed universes. My work is about narrative, and bringing elements of reality to even the most fantastic of subjects in order to tell a more cohesive and convincing story.
